Ballykin friend and proud Wiradjuri man, Josh Toomey came to our Mosman centre for a visit this week. Josh shared with the children a map of Australia and showed them Wiradjuri country where he is from, in central-western NSW.

Conversations about Josh’s country and culture enabled him to share his knowledge of bush tucker foods; extending the children’s current work in the classroom on cooking and food preparation. Following his visit the children watched a short documentary on bush tucker foods. The children are excitedly waiting for Josh’s next visit where he will make bush teas with them. Thanks Josh, we love it when you come to visit!
